Northwell Health s Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine is seeking a Geriatrics and/or Palliative Medicine Physician for its inpatient consult service at Plainview and Syosset Hospitals in Long Island, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to join a nationally recognized division. The ideal candidate should be board-certified/board-eligible in Geriatrics and/or Palliative Medicine and have an interest in delivering hospital-based patient care. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, registered nurses, and social workers provide high-quality clinical care to older adults and those with severe and advanced illness. Highlights include academic and research opportunities, exposure to a variety of patient demographics, and professional growth opportunities. Plainview Hospital is an acute care, 219-bed community hospital that treats patients with a wide range of medical, surgical and gynecological conditions. It has a busy same-day surgery program, a Center of Excellence for minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, is renowned for its total joint replacement program, and is home to one of the Don Monti Cancer Centers and a Northwell Family Medicine residency. It is also a New York State Department of Health Primary Stroke Center and a recipient of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association s Get With the Guidelines -Stroke Quality Achievement Award. The hospital has been recognized by the Joint Commission for excellence in heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.Syosset Hospital is a 136-bed facility that provides the highest quality care by experienced, board-certified medical professionals.
