The Surgical Technician Certified handles the instruments,
supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sit up to 1 hour per day. - Stand for up to 8 hours per day;
possibly 6 hours at a time. - Walk up to 8-10 hours per day; up to
2 hours at a time. - Continuously required to use manual dexterity
for handling and twisting/turning. - Consistently lift and carry
objects up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and carry objects up to 25
pounds; frequently push objects up to 100+ pounds (i.e., camera
carts, microphones, storage carts, etc.). - Frequently stoop and
bend. - Frequently reach above shoulder level. - Must have the
ability to move and respond quickly. - Must be able to hear as it
relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies. - Must be
able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color, and
peripheral vision. - Depth perception necessary. - Ability to
tolerate visual monotony. -
EDUCATION:Completion of formal surgical technology program and/or
equivalent experience. Certification as a surgical technology is
required. - Certification from the NBSTSA (National Board of
Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) -with the CST
credential or -NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) with
the TS-C credential are acceptable.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: - -
Planned for 4-6 week orientation to surgical suite by Clinical
Specialist, on-going in-service programs and on-the-job experiences
with individual preceptors. - Customized orientation for all
surgical specialty areas. -

Full time days, as scheduled. 40 hours per week.Please complete
