involves: The Calibration Technician is responsible for the
performance and coordination of calibration and preventive
maintenance activities associated with process, lab and test
instruments. They ensure that activities and practices are
maintained and traceable to the Manufacturing Quality System
utilized by BMS.What your day-to-day will look like:
- Perform calibrations and/or verifications of instruments and
equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain electronic and
pneumatic components
- Perform testing on electronic components
- Carry out modifications, improvements, and recommendations to
existing systems
- Complete cGMP documentation associated with calibration and
maintenance tasks
- Plan and coordinate external calibration servicesWork Schedule:
First Shift (Tuesday to Saturday)The position is permanent and
full-time. Work may take place in either the maintenance shop
and/or in the plant, depending on job requirements. You may be
required to work outside in both winter and summer
conditions.Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- 6 or more years of related technical experience (recent
graduates considered based on course work and grades)
- 2-year technical degree in Metrology or related field,
professional certification (ISA-CCST, ASQ-CCT) or military
educational program (PMEL)
- Knowledge of process controls and electrical circuitry
- Working knowledge of paperless calibration management software
(BlueCal or Maximo preferred)
- Ability to work from specifications, drawings, verbal
instructions or sketches
- Knowledge of automation controllers (PLCs), Allen Bradley,
Honeywell and ModiconRequired Skills and Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs/systems
- Ability to adequately perform required job functions
- Physical capability to lift, bend and move in a safe and
approved manner
- Operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation and
equipment
- Work in various environmental conditions (maintenance shop
and/or plant)
- Ability to work outside in winter and summerNote: This position
involves working with chemical, radiological, or biological agents
that may be hazardous to health if mishandled. Employees must
follow all safety procedures and use personal protective
clothing/equipment where specified.
